Sustainability Initiatives
We don’t just talk about sustainability - we take action. Check out some of the ways we're reducing our environmental impact and creating a positive impact on our community.
Working Toward Zero Waste
Here are a few active initiatives we are proud of.
ReusePass Program
The Reuse Pass is a convenient program available at Wellness Kitchen, TigerZone, and Foy on the Fly that allows you to order meals in reusable containers through your Grubhub app. By opting in to ReusePass on campuses that support it, your order will be packaged in eco-friendly, reusable containers, helping reduce waste.
Campus Kitchen
The Campus Kitchen at Auburn University is a student-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting food waste and hunger simultaneously by recovering excess food from on-campus dining halls and turning it into nutritious meals for those in need. Through their collective efforts, they have recovered over 160,000 pounds of food and provided more than 153,000 meals, all while continuously improving their logistics to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Auburn Cares Food Pantry
The Campus Food Pantry provides free food and toiletry items to Auburn University students experiencing food insecurity. Any currently enrolled student experiencing food insecurity can use the Campus Food Pantry
Your Choices Can Make a Daily Impact
Our goal is to make it easy to offer you nutritious, environmentally, and socially conscious options wherever possible.
Our Partnership with The Common Market
Our partnership with The Common Market reflects Tiger dining’s strong commitment to local food purchasing. By supporting regional farms, we prioritize fresh, high-quality, unprocessed foods while helping to sustain local agriculture and preserve farmland. This collaboration not only strengthens our community’s economy by supporting small businesses and creating jobs but also fosters a deeper connection between our diners and the people behind their meals. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact—one that benefits our health, environment, and local economy
AUBees Honey
Our dining program is proud to craft handmade honey mustard using AUBees' locally sourced honey, which not only tastes amazing but also supports the vital research and student workers at the Auburn Bee Lab. By choosing local honey and supporting AUBees, you're helping both the environment and the future of sustainable agriculture. Let's make this Earth Week as sweet as honey!
